Tyfors Steel Open is one of the largest and most established recurring ELR competitions in the Nordic region.

Unlike many more open ELR ranges, Tyfors is shot in wooded terrain and under distinctly field-oriented conditions. The character of the match has even given rise to the expression “field-style ELR” – long-range shooting where terrain, firing positions and practical execution are as much a part of the experience as the distances themselves.

With large fields of competitors and several years of documented results, Tyfors has become an important part of both Swedish and Nordic ELR.

Iron Mine is held in the Kirkenes area of Northern Norway and has developed a clear identity within Nordic ELR since its first edition in 2021.

The match combines long shooting distances with a rugged northern environment and a target profile that, across several years, has made it possible to see how the same physical targets change in difficulty as their distances are altered.

Iron Mine has repeatedly included targets at and beyond two kilometres and is now an important part of the verified Nordic ELR record.

Midnight Sun Rifle Challenge at Skardalen, Blåtind, is one of the earliest organized ELR competitions in the Nordic region.

ELR shooting was already being held here in 2017, making MSRC an important part of Nordic ELR history. The mountain terrain, long distances and northern Norwegian conditions give the match a distinct character.

Both historical material and later verified results from Blåtind are preserved today within ELR Nordic League.

Norwegian Mountains is a Norwegian ELR competition with a clear connection to the mountain environment.

The match is included in the ELR Nordic League verified result archive, and recent editions are documented with targets, distances and results.

Norwegian Mountains is one of the younger competitions in the Nordic ELR environment and can be described in greater detail as more historical and background material becomes available.
