Publication status
What does Verified mean?
A result marked Verified has been reviewed against documented competition source material and can be traced back to its sources.
Scope
Verification applies to the result and its documentation.
ELR Nordic League does not take over the Match Director’s responsibility for safety, the range or local organization.
Verification may include
- match identity and date
- targets and distances
- target dimensions and shape
- participants and hit sequences
- VPS
- ranking and tie-break
- class where class results are published
- consistency between verified source material and the public result file
The objective is for the result to be
- traceable
- reproducible
- reviewable
Meaning
A common documented basis
Verified does not mean that two matches had identical wind, light, mirage, terrain or impact observation.
It means that there is a common documented basis for understanding and comparing the results.
Standardize the documentation of results – not the organizers.
The scope of verification may differ. A match may, for example, have a Verified Overall result even when sufficient verified class information is not available for class publication.
If an error is discovered, it can be corrected against documented source material. Relevant changes to published information should remain traceable.
Interrupted
A match that ended without a valid final result but is preserved as part of the historical record.
Preliminary
A result that has not yet completed final verification.
Short version
Verified means that the match information, source material, result and scoring have been reviewed and that the published result can be traced back to documented sources.
